Malvernians Attend Grandmother Mrs May Churchman Rites

Denver visitors arrive for funeral services of Mrs May Churchman as Rev Duane Churchman leads the ceremony. Families from Malvern and surrounding towns attend gatherings, with many returning home after several days of travel and visits.

Picnic at Malvern Gun Club Draws Wide Turnout

News of the County Seat reports a Malvern picnic at the Gun Club grounds featuring Grand officers and guests from Boone Farragut Randolph Clinton Scranton and many towns. The Worthy Grand Matron ceremony used a garden scene backdrop. a Rummage Sale skit and refreshments followed for 160 attendees. A marriage license was issued to James F. Bichel and Rosanna Parks. New vehicles included Volkswagens Pontiacs Chevrolets Buicks and Rambler pickups across Malvern Glenwood Randolph and nearby towns.

First Joint Meeting of Malvern Church Youth

Twenty seven youths from Malvern Baptist Presbyterian and Methodist churches met at the Methodist church for the first joint youth gathering. Jan Costello led a lesson titled What are you with help from peers. worship was by Baptist members Diane Allensworth Larry Williams and Warren Hall. refreshments and recreation followed. plans for July August joint meetings were set to feature different service parts.

Attendance at the Mills County Historical Society Museum in Glenwood Lake Park has grown this summer reports Mrs. R H Mintle of Glenwood. A number of persons assist Mrs Henry Dickman as host at the Museum each Sunday. For July 4 Mrs Tom Holliday and Mrs Nettie Hartman will be hostesses.
