Strahan area notes show Mr and Mrs Kier hosting a farewell supper for Mr and Mrs Flash Goeman who move near Silver City and others bidding goodbyes to nearby families. Attendees shared meals, games, and visiting. church and club events noted with several local residents listed.
Nancy Trively suffered serious injuries when the car she rode in skidded on ice near Imogene. Taken to Shenandoah hospital and later to Clarkson hospital in Omaha, she is the daughter of Mrs Verle Trively of Randolph.
The Organization and Maintenance Committee leads this year’s Farm Bureau drive with 45 new paid members. They stress unity for American agriculture, oppose price controls, urge safety on roads, and warn that a single mistake can cost lives.
The Board met with President Chantry and Directors Beckwith Wortman present. Absent were Breeding and Shonka. The secretary reported a $500 gift from the Becks for first grade furnishings and the board approved several facility changes at the Forrest R Chantry School including tile, wiring, and plumbing changes and authorized change orders with Wilson & Davis and J H Martin. The meeting adjourned with Byington as secretary.
