Beefmen Reminded of New Brucellosis Law Changes
Mills County beef cattlemen are urged to study five changes in the 1963 brucellosis law as eradication steps intensify in 1964. The law requires cattle restraint for blood testing, calfhood vaccination for females born after July 1 1963, feeder permits for under 21 months, and strict testing for bulls and imported cattle. Quarantine and retest options apply to calves from the same farm, with markets directing brucellosis cases to slaughter or quarantine paths.
