Susan Kahl and Steven Sands, both of Malvern, united in marriage on December 27, 1975 at St John’s Lutheran Church Mineola. The ceremony was conducted by Rev Ludolf Leckner with a cream organdy gown and daisies in a reception at the Malvern Community Building. The couple plans to reside in Grovetown Georgia where the groom is stationed in the army.

United Methodist Women and Circle Meet in Malvern

A joint meeting of United Methodist Women and Mary Ruth circle was held Thursday Jan 8 at the church with 22 in attendance. President Jessie Wearin opened with a passage on positive prayer. Members plan Jan 15 at 2 pm to clean cupboards and consider an adult Sunday School class. A rummage and food sale is planned for early spring. Genevieve DeWitt assisted by Dorothy Churchman led the pledge. Refreshments by Mary Lou Wearin Mary Anna Hunt Lola Hasselquist and Lucille Scott.

Malvern Bride Weds Pocahontas Groom In Christmas Ceremony

Miss Cheryl Ann Cheney became the bride of Michael Glen McAlexander in a candlelight Dec 19, 1975 wedding at a Malvern church. Rev. Charles Curl officiated. attendants wore red satin crepe gowns. reception followed in Fellowship Hall. The couple will reside in Pocahontas with heavy family involvement, gifts, and grandparent honorees noted.

A Sunday housewarming was held at Floyd Brammer’s home with friends and neighbors bringing pot luck dishes. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Don Primrose and Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Galen Hunt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Buss Molt, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Scott, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Evans of Glenwood. The afternoon was spent visiting.

Twelve residents attended a Sunday senior citizen potluck at Ishna Cottage. Junior Lake was absent. The church device and special music were provided by the Tabor RLDs. Ivan Jackson was reported to be in Red Oak hospital.
