A jumble of events records a wedding market gathering, Legion honors, and farewell parties in Malvern and Shenandoah areas. Notes celebrate F M Davison, Miss Margaret Buttmann, and Miss Velde Hurst with dinners, toasts, and gifts. Local clubs, church events, and family celebrations feature dinners, cakes, and parlor games.
The marriage of Bianchestien d here of Mia and John Shete of Malvern from Tabot and Howard Biggerstaff son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J Biggerstaff was announced. The ceremony occurred at high noon in Topeka Kansas with Rev Bruckenbrack officiating. Mrs. Biggerstaff wore a two piece crepe dress with matching accessories. The groom wore a blue business suit. The couple returned to Malvern the following week to receive congratulations.
Sunday afternoon in Malvern and Silver City saw the marriage of Doloria Dark daughter of Mrs. Imo Dark of Council Bluffs to Harvey Gilman Robert son of Mrs. Lillie Robert of Silver City. The Rev. Lester C. Hall officiated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Crouse with Miss Velma Jean Chamberlain as maid of honor and Claude Robertson as best man. The bride wore aqua blue with gardenia corsage. the groom in a dark suit. The ceremony was followed by a simple reception and a short honeymoon trip.
The Ladies Aid met Wednesday with Mrs F D Snodgrass as assisting hostess. Next meeting planned for March 8 with Mrs Henry Schick Emerson and Mrs J F Shelley assisting. Honor was given to Mrs Harvey Bullington at a party hosted by Mrs L C Bullington and Wilma Cooper at Wilma’s home Friday afternoon, in anticipation of Mrs Bullington’s move. Charlene Bullington spent Saturday night with a friend.
Sunday visitors gathered in Red Oak as Cecil Bullington and Ralph England joined Mrs. Harold Cooper and family, plus Darrell and Victor Danielson. Florence and Wilma Cooper hosted guests, while L C Bullington and relatives joined the Shelley's dinner. A mention notes a Christian Home meeting in Emerson and a brief line about cotton and soldiers.
A town wide church notices list Lent observances and services. St John Lutheran and Assembly of God update meeting plans while First Methodist schedules cottage prayer meetings.
