Mr and Mrs Earl Hodges marked their 57th wedding anniversary on December 16 in Mille County. The couple recalled a long life together including a wedding by sleigh in Omaha and many quiet years by the fire before an unexpected, boisterous visit from relatives and friends who brought refreshments and best wishes for many more anniversaries.

Mrs Sarah Catharine Gillman Alberts, longtime Malvern resident, died December 14 at her farm home after a long illness.
