The Hillsdale WSCS met at the church for a Christmas meeting and party led by Mrs. Dalewell. Gifts and decorations featured a candlelit creche display, with members wrapping presents for an adapted family and enjoying a social hour with chicken salad and coffee.
Mr and Mrs Claids Williams visited son Robert and family in Glenwood over Christmas leave with grandson Pvt Gary Willis of the U S Marine Corps and Verry Williams home from Northwestern State College. Gene Van Orsdel family assisted daughter and family moving from Chillicothe Mo on Tuesday and Wednesday. Lo Shenandoah Roger Sturgater Glenwood and Miss Shirley Menachel from His tings visited Drayton Slaughter and John Sunday evening.
Mr and Mrs Carl Phelps returned Monday from Colorado Springs where they visited daughters and families for an early Christmas. A Memorial party and WSCS activities filled the Hillsdale week with dinners slides and a farm sale fundraiser. Friends and relatives from Pensacola Glenwood Council Bluffs and Bensonville joined in holiday visits and lighted decor.
Kenneth G Bird son of Mr and Mrs Rix Bird of Malvern Iowa has been promoted to master sergeant in the U S Air Force Sergeant Bird serves as a provisions measuring equipment technician at Francis Warren A E Wyoming and is a member of the Strategic Air Command He is a Malvern High School graduate His wife Glenda is daughter of Peat Cook of 465 Sixth St Laramie Wyoming
Nineteen members and two Suvsls gathered for the Christmas meeting hosted by Mrs. B. Frank Buffington. Mrs. Bernard Roenfeldt led the business session while new club books by Jim Sell were distributed. Members shared memories, readings, and music, with contests won by Mrs. Rowe and Mrs. Myron Jones as the program closed.
Christmas season notices list dinners and gatherings across Wesley area. Guests include Clifford Allely, Marvin Deitelher, Wayne Parkers, and Mrs Francis Deitelher with Hastings and Mineola connections. Local events feature church programs, a Christmas party at the Funday Club, and festive decorations by Jerry Lathropp and others.
With a festive Hillsdale Methodist Church setting, the Christmas program featured readings by David Hilton and Ernest and Aurelia Uivore, a solo by Carolyn Wilson, and gifts under the tree for children and teachers. Nearby, families attended school programs at Randolph and Glenwood high schools, with multiple local students participating in musical and classroom events.
Regular WSCS meeting at the church on December 1 featured a Christmas party with festive decor. Mrs Hi Cool and Mrs Gten Jackson spoke on Christm Symbols, followed by a white elephant gift exchange and a $16.11 love gift to Elaine Martz, the missionary.
