Marietta the mouse sneaks to Santa Claus in a room filled with cheese and a big sack. Santa offers cheese and explains stockings are gifts for the child whose foot fits. He places Marietta in a stocking and promises cheese again next year if she behaves. Squeaks signal her new home and a fond farewell.
County supervisors propose a standard set of platting rules for rural subdivisions drawn by County Attorney James Thomas. Rules cover roads, surveys, lot and road designations, erosion control, seeding, and materials. Hearing on Jan. 17, 1973 at the courthouse begins 10 am per auditor Glenn Johnson.
Funeral services for Cydney Charles Scherer were held at Hillsdale Church north of Tabor. The service featured organ and duet, life sketch, and burial in Malvern cemetery. Surviving family includes wife Harriett two sons Gordon and Steven stepson Robert Campbell and five grandchildren.
