Christmas Party By Legion and Auxiliary in Silver City
The American Legion and Auxiliary held their annual Christmas cooperative supper and party on December 12 at the Legion Hall. Twenty four people joined bingo with Harold Williams winning the door prize. decorations featured festive motifs and hostesses were Mrs Phyllis Skerritt and Mrs Harold Skerritt. The Auxiliary plans its next meeting on January 9 with Mrs Elizabeth Schoening and Mrs Harriett Schoening as hostesses. Tuesday Circle Club held a pot luck dinner at Mrs Wilma Jones home with bingo and gifts for each member, followed by secret pals.

Walter Doyle of south of Emerson reports break in after two days away. Thieves entered by a window and took bed blankets and a box of 410 shotgun shells. Earlier, vandalism damaged Burlington Northern signal system near milepost 4649 west of the depot, with signal wires cut and a bond wire damaged.
