Malvern Couples Announce Engagement and Dec 27 Reception
Spotlight on the Social Scene announces the approaching marriage of Susan and Steve, children of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kahl and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sands of Malvern. A reception in their honor is set for Saturday Dec. 27 at 8:00 p.m. in the Malvern Community building basement. Heritage Union Center hosts Friday night events on Dec. 19 from 6 to 3 p.m. in the museum with refreshments available.

Roy Lang of Council Bluffs drove Gladys Evans to Edmundson hospital Thursday. she reported a good checkup. Silver Urn Chapter met Tuesday evening Dec 16 for the year’s final meeting. a silver coffee server was presented as a Memoriam to Blanche Emerick. Officers elected for 1976 include Worthy Matron Mrs Tom Pearce, Worthy Patron Ron Curtis, Associate Matron Mrs Tracy Ryan, Associate Patron Tracy Ryan, secretary Mrs Robert L Campbell, treasurer Mrs George Mort, Conductress Mrs Larry Maynes, Associate Conductress Mrs David Roenfeld. An open installation will be held at the Masonic Temple Sunday Jan 4 at 2 pm with Mrs Eldon Baker Installing Officer. Relatives and friends invited. Artist added pastels to ink to detail Weber’s rural work animals calendar feature. Northwestern Bell’s calendar for 1976 marks the 12th year of artist pages, with about 700 entrants from the Iowa Minnesota Nebraska North Dakota South Dakota service area. The calendar also notes American history dates and the 100th anniversary of the telephone invention.

Seventeen members of the Martha Circle of the United Methodist church in Malvern and guests Joan Helmich and Gloria Folkers enjoyed their annual Christmas party and gift exchange at the home of Mrs. Jessie Wearin. The gathering included a business meeting, a Christmas story read by Mrs. Karen Roenfeld, carols sung with Miss Falkers on piano, and refreshments served by Mesdames Genevieve Payne and Mildred Martin. The Western Heritage Society schedules a special Saturday opening at the Western Heritage Museum in Union Station Omaha 801 South Tenth Street from 2 to 6 p m on Saturday December 20 and Sunday December 21.
