Thanksgiving entertaining at several local households

Mr and Mrs Henry Schilling hosted relatives for Thanksgiving. Suppers and dinners followed at multiple homes including Mr and Mrs Delbert Melott and children of Wales, Mr and Mrs Vernon Baker and son of Emerson, Mr and Mrs Earl Marsden and children, and Mr and Mrs Jim Benedict of Hambure. Velma Mahan visited her parents, Mr and Mrs Marion Mahan, as others enjoyed gatherings.

East Liberty Thanksgiving Gatherings In East Liberty

East Liberty families observed Thanksgiving with large gatherings across town. The Bird, Maddocks, Schiermeier, Duffiey, Lutz, Proctor, Alberts, Rogers, Darnold, and Lookabill households hosted relatives from Malvern, Glenwood, Sioux City, Hastings, Bedford, and Omaha. Neighbors attended a first quarterly conference, and local moves saw Haines and Jackson families relocating to Hastings and nearby farms.

The Malvern community lists coming events including a Christmas tree at the opera house hosted by the M B E Sunday school on December 24, alongside a Heine concert and a Wilberforce company performance under the Malvern Knights of Pythias. The Malvern Cold Storage Co. employs about 18 people and shipped poultry to New York and Boston, as mist and fog gave way to light snow.

Ladies' Aid Christmas Party Planned Next Wednesday

The Ladies' Aid Christmas party will be hosted by Mrs. Leonard Miller next Wednesday December 13 as an afternoon gathering with gift exchange and a 10 cent lunch. Invitations extend to all, with remarks by Mrs Laura Korney and Josia. In Glenwood on Saturday Mrs Winnie Moore marked her 78th birthday with family. Mr and Mrs W H Maddocks drove to Crete Neb. their son Ralph a Donne College student returned by bus Sunday. Mr and Mrs Will Lutg and Maxine Proctor joined Sunday dinner at Mr and Mrs Nele Olson.

Mr and Mrs Clyde Barger Visit Council Platts Monday

Mr and Mrs Clyde Barger made a trip to Council Platts again Monday. Mrs Barger is taking electric treatments for her throat after two surgeries to remove tumors. Clarence Smith, recently visiting his mother Mrs A J Darnold, returned to his home near Pattonsburg Mo with brothers Paul and Lee who will stay a month with relatives there.
