Thanksgiving Gatherings Across Mt. Vernon Area
Mt. Vernon residents hosted extensive family dinners and visits over Thanksgiving. Numerous households including the Sinners, Hansen, Blackman, Herrick, Barbern, and Caswell families welcomed relatives from nearby towns such as Missouri Valley, Littleton, Silver City, Red Oak, Glenwood, Atlantic, and Pacific Junction. The newspaper notes long travel to share meals, church services, and community events, with multiple mentions of relatives from Tabor, Emerson, and Omaha.
