Iowa Farm Outlook Sees Egg and Flock Growth Through 1968

Iowa State University economist Gene Futrell notes a larger laying flock and increased per-layers will keep egg production above last year through year end and into early 1968. Prices should stay near 1967 levels, with Grade A Large eggs 8 to 10 cents below last year in Sep-Dec, and quality-control eggs 4 to 7 cents above regular. Returns to producers remain narrow but may improve slightly in the coming months despite lower feed costs.
