Joyce Johnson Weds Vernon Robinson in Oakland Wedding

Joyce Johnson of Oakland Nebraska married Vernon Robinson in a candlelight ceremony at First Covenant Church land Nebr. The Rev Emmett Swanson officiated before an altar of white sladkplas. The bride wore a white neon taffeta gown with bell silhouette and pearls. her sister Janyce Johnson was maid of honor. The couple will reside in Omaha and both graduates of Wayne State College employed by Omaha Public Schools.

Nursing School Graduates Recognized at Ceremony

Graduates from the nursing program were registered by Mrs. Robert Williams and Deanne Powers. A reception featured a white lace cloth, a gold table, and a three tier cake. Daughters of the honoree and the couple’s daughters assisted, with gifts prepared by Mrs. Verna White. The CLUB HS meeting, hosted by Mrs. Joe Haden, is set for Wednesday after 2 p.m.

Williamses Hold Open House for Golden Annie Anniversary

Mr and Mrs Glaude Williams observed their golden wedding anniversary with an open house at the Tisdale church. All of their children attended along with many relatives and friends, marking a long union since 1988 and celebration by the Williams family from Glenwood and Powitz.

Huntsman Walston Nuptials Held At Emerson Church

Janet Lordane Huntsman and Thomas Everell Walston wed August 20, 1985 at the First Baptist Church in Emerson with Rev. Richard F. Parson officiating. The couple will reside on a farm southwest of Emerson.

Marriage Vows Exchanged Saturday in Malvern Church

Mrs Judy Bowling and Keith Glandon united in marriage Saturday at the Methodist church. Rev John Lipinncott read the lines as attendees included the couple’s families from Malvern Sigourney and Omaha. The ceremony followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. The bride wore a two piece rose wool dress and carried white roses. The groom an Iowa State University agronomy graduate works as a conservationist with the SCS in Malvern. They plan a home in the Mrs Martha Ponton house on North Firsvenue after a wedding trip. Out of town guests included family members from Sigourney State Center Boone and Omaha.

Hat Creations showcased at Mulholland home event

Mrs. FF. A. Mulholland and Mrs. W. W. Aishope hosted a coffee morning for 16 Soest at the Mulholland residence last Friday. Guests were asked to wear hats of their own design and prizes were awarded for the best looking and most clever hats, with Mrs. Max Dashner and Mrs. Ralph Jower named as winners.

Atkinson family of Amarillo Texas entertained guests from Friday to Monday in honor of Mrs. Ross Atkinson. The gathering included Mr. and Mrs. Robert Waller of Silver City, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Myers, Mrs. Shela Fries and family. A Sunday dinner was served.

Surplus Property Sale Planned for Sept 3

The Commodity Credit Corporation announces a public surplus property sale set for Friday September 3. The sale will occur in three locations starting at Henderson then Mineola, with grain bins aeration units and lumber among the items. Collision Report at Packing House Driveway

Collision reported at the Glenwood packing house driveway near the county road. Donald Jedlicka of Silver City and Marvin Long of Glenwood were involved when Jedlicka waited to pass and Long’s car struck his. Damages totaled 450 dollars for Long’s car and 200 dollars for Jedlicka’s vehicle.
