The Eternal Sapho at Empress Tonight and Local Visits

Mills County notes a flurry of visits as residents travel to Omaha Des Moines and Des Moines for fairs. The town advertises Theda Bara in The Eternal Sapho at the Empress August 23 while detailing residents’ visits, farm projects and new Ford demonstrations at Salyers and Kayton.

School to Open September 8 After Board Meeting

The school opens Sept. 8 following a Monday night school board meeting. Arrangements are nearly complete but a vacancy in the teaching staff remains to be filled.

Mrs L E Smith and her class of women hosted a party for Mrs Chas Knight at Mrs Smiths home. Mrs Knight plans to move to Cedar Falls to house for her daughter Marion who will attend school there next year.

Sunday School Picnic Planned for August 30

At a meeting of Presbyterian Sabbath School officers and teachers, it was decided to hold a church and Sabbath School picnic next Thursday, August 30. Committees were appointed and plans set for a grand family gathering to farewell the many young people leaving for college. The place will be announced later. attendees are urged to make plans to attend.

Engagement Announced For Lenora Young and Oldred Hart

Mrs Thomas J Young of Macedonia Indiana announces the engagement of her daughter Lenora to Oldred Schuyler Hart son of Mr and Mrs E Hart of Council Bluffs. September 22 is the wedding date to be held at the bride’s mother's home with Miss Lulu Mitchell of Lincoln as bridesmaid and Nason Young the fiancé of Lenora's sister as a groomsman. Hart is well known in Omaha circles and Hart will manage a farm near Centralia Missouri where they will reside.
