Pleasant call Mer. Whitney visited Woonsocket Dakota to see a brother. Many items list visits, travel, and shop promotions around Malvern and Shenandoah IA with names, addresses, and local businesses.
W. W. Stephenson and George Barkus departed for Yankton South Dakota with a truck full of Stephenson household goods. The Stephenson couple accepted positions in the Yankton schools for the coming year at a substantial salary increase. They will be missed in Malvern where they taught two years. Stephenson made a fine athletic record here and boosted football morale.
Pastor Rev H Mitchell of the Methodist church at Etrerach will preach Sunday morning at eleven o'clock. Sunday school is scheduled for ten o'clock.
The Christian Church holds Sunday school at 10:00 a.m. and a sermon at 11:00 a.m. Elder Carey preaches. Union Services at 8:06 p.m. Cecil Wright of Glenwood will preach as Rev. Noland’s assistant and may act as pastor when Noland preaches elsewhere. Wright is noted as a Tribune star. Young people plan an August 25 event to fund basement repairs for a social parlor. September 13 features Rev. Stirling of Cumberland, Iowa, with a Home Coming and Basket Dinner planned for September 20, inviting former members and pastors.
