Soil conservation districts mark 1st anniversary nationwide

Farmers in Iowa and 47 states observe the first anniversary of the soil conservation district program, now totaling 1909 districts covering about 60 percent of farmland. Archuleta Hinsdale Mineral counties Colorado form San Juan district this month, as Chief Bennett hails a movement securing topsoil and national resource protection.

Hillsdale Church invites worshippers with Sunday school at 10 and preaching at 11 15 a m. If you have no place to worship join us. Forrest Bloomer and wife returned from a 10 day Colorado trip for vacation and business. Lese Pippitt and children visited Dil Fitzpatrick and family in Ashland Nebraska. Bill Gress and family from Council Bluffs and W J Fitzpatrick from Glenwood were supper guests of Less Pippitt. Lloyd Gaylord, a student at Ames, had an appendectomy in Des Moines and is recovering. Mesdames Ruth Sell Walter Phelps and Dale Sell visited Omaha Wednesday.
