Postwar flying in your hometown previewed nationwide
William A Burden warns that more than five million Americans have adopted the idea of personal flying and urges communities to plan now. He estimates 300000 pilots in uniform, 150000 civilians, 25,000 civilian aircraft today, and 400000 civil airplanes within a decade after the war. Local airparks and harbors, built with federal state and non profit help, could become income producers and help finance facilities.
