River man Arthur Alexander found in West Nishna Botna River
The body of Arthur Alexander, missing since July 21 after a fishing boat capsize near the Anderson bridge, was recovered last Wednesday in the West Nishna Botna River near the Highway 2 bridge east of Sidney. Sheriff Bob Jenkins said the body surfaced after a five day search. Alexander, formerly of Mills county, had worked for a Glenwood packing firm and owned Alexander's Clothing. Bartholomew survived. witnesses described the capsizing during the boat trip about 400 yards north of the bridge.

Mills County 4-H Camp-Out for Junior Members
About 60 youngsters ages 9 to 11 attended a Mills County Fairgrounds overnight 4-H camp organized by Mills County officers. Activities included games relays and an Olympic morning event supervised by Chris Ellison Carol Richter Mary Steiner Susan Miller Debbie Leu Linda Williamson Ernest Bloomer Warren Sayers and Ron Williams. Sheriff Merle Brown distributed safety booklets and spoke on bicycle safety. Debby Taylor led folk dancing and music. Susan Miller and Ernest Bloomer led Vespers after watermelon. Campers rose early for a hike and breakfast and were dismissed at 10 am Wednesday. Marie Hopp and LaVerne Obrecht aided the event.
