Evernham school pupils and teachers hosted an Easter party Friday afternoon. Principal guests included Miss Verne Alberts, Patty Timmerman, Kenneth Crouch Jr., and Duane Schoening. Students made baskets and hats, drew Easter eggs, and received a basket treat.
Neighbors delivered a large aid to Frank Chamberlain after major lung surgery at the Veterans hospital in Omaha. Sixty four acres of nuts were planted and rolled by Corte Stewart Floyd Blackman Floyd Hreammer and Merrill Sargent with Mrs Sargent helping with meals. Past Easter visits included many local families and friends from Pacific Junction Glenwood Red Oak Henderson and Tabor.
The Sunday School and worship services at Tuam are noted with a 11 a.m. service. Easter gatherings include visits by Mr and Mrs Sherman Atler and Loretha Allen from Grace Bible Institute. Numerous family meals and social events feature the Kellenbarger, Cooper, Koehler, Pritger, and Shelly families along with friends from Emerson and Omaha during the holiday period.
Notice in probate declares a will for Gilbert E. McCain presented April 19 1997 in Mills County Court. The district court in Glenwood set the hearing and required actions by interested parties. The filing dates and judge names indicate formal probate steps are underway.
Mills County Extension Director Harlan Stratton announces a May 21 meeting at the Voc Ag building in Glenwood on swine backfat and gain testing. He also mentions a Tulip Festival trip, upcoming scholarship opportunities for 4 H graduates, soybean seed germination testing results in days to two weeks, and pasture guidance recommending Sudan grass and Piper variety with height and grazing cautions.
