Carol Wortman celebrated her 10th birthday with two gatherings. At school recess Mr and Mrs F A Wortman hosted classmates, then hosted dinner at home with guests Mr and Mia Wearin, J F Wearin, Jr, and their children. The family later attended the school concert.

Young couple sets May 5 for wedding of Kruse and Jones
May 5 has been chosen for the marriage of Marlene Marion Kruse to Kenneth Ray Jones. Kruse, a 1943 Glenwood High School graduate and Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing alum, heads eye surgery at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Jones, a 1962 Malvern High School graduate, is a Northwestern Bell employee in Council Bluffs. Parents are Clyde Kruse of Glenwood and Kenneth Jones of Malvern.

County Woman's Clubs Convene Successful Mills County Meet
Emerson hosts the Mills county convention of the Iowa Federation of Womans clubs with 75 registered. Ethel Parker opened the meeting, and Aary Allely led the opening. Reports by presidents and division chairmen followed, and a silver for scholarship netted 8.30 for the Ethel Taylor Fund. Lunch served for 52. food sale raised 15.08 for the county club treasury. The afternoon featured group singing and entertainment acts from Emerson Nishna Valley Pacific Junction Glenwood Hastings and a speaker.
