Easter Sunday Visitors at Silver Citations Meeting
The spring district meeting of the Woman's Society of Christian Service was held in Harlan on Wednesday. Attendees included Mrs. George Burgoin and others. visiting friends came from Rogers, Macedonia, Council Bluffs, Mabelle, Ark., Stanberry, Mo., and Omaha. Several trips to Tabor were noted to visit Mrs. Eliza Kochenderfer, with Parker and Caudell visiting in Omaha. George Bargain and Harold Williams celebrated early birthdays with Whist club members. The Methodist Church board met at the parsonage with 15 members. next meeting set for Mrs. Phyllis Skerritt's home.

In Silver City the Red Cross drive chaired by Mrs. Kenneth McMahan raised 83.25 dollars. Helpers included Mrs. Phyllis Skerritt Mrs. Carroll Kirlin Mrs. Gerald Stogdill Mrs. Harvey Ord and Mrs. Wilbert Kahl. Easter Sunrise Service on Hillside Near Silver City
An Easter sunrise service held on a hillside south of Silver City was enjoyed by 23 young people from the Methodist church. Rev Merle Burres and Mrs Burres led planning with Gene Buffington and Mrs George Miller assisting. Breakfast at the church followed, prepared by Mrs Clarence Burgoin and Mrs Gene Buffington, with help from Mrs Glen Robertson, Mrs Phyllis Skerritt, and Mrs George Miller.
