The Twentieth Century Club met at Mrs. Tom Harris’s home for a film on the Chicago North Western railroad’s history, operated by Douglas Slothower. Mrs. B. B. Miller shared an entertaining account of a two month vacation in St Petersburg, Florida. Plans for the Federated Women’s Club county meeting were made with county chairman Mrs. W. G. Snoddy of Percival in charge. The hosting clubs were the Twentieth Century and the Women's Club of Tabor.

Escape Serious Injuries When Car Is Wrecked
Miss Jill Cowden and Joe Tran ton of Taher escaped serious injuries when their car was nearly demolished in a Saturday evening wreck about a mile north of Taher. Hanlon started to pay another car when his car lost control. it rolled three times, jumped a fence, and landed in a field. Mike Cowden and Hanlon suffered cuts and bruises. Hanlon had an injured ankle from being pinned. In a second crash, Dale Anderson and Warren Howard of Tabor sustained minor injuries though their car was heavily damaged after a collision with David Mather of Sidney while delivering a newspaper route south of Tabor. all received hospital treatment.

Typing Champ Sought Among Local Seniors
Local Malvern seniors are invited to enter the eighth annual state high school typing championship. Entries must type 50 words a minute or better, with eligibility for public and parochial seniors. The event, sponsored by the Minerva Institute of Business in Des Moines, will be held Saturday, April 24, with winners receiving speed and accuracy prizes, medals, cups, and a wrist watch after a judges’ personality contest.

Charlotte Warren hosted a March 2 gathering for the Ambitious Andies at her home. Nancy Terry was elected vice president, Nancy Phillips listed as a resident. Fremont county Tuberculosis and Stealth Association brings mobile X-ray units to Mills county for several weeks. The free chest X rays target seventh graders and older, screening for TB and other conditions like heart issues tumors or bone malformations. The health project aims to help people know if they are healthy and seek quick care if needed. A schedule for community visits will appear in a later issue.
