Armand Bayou to charge admission to solve finances
Armand Bayou Nature Center in the Clear Lake area will begin charging $2.50 for adults and $1 for seniors and youths aged 5 to 17 on December 1 to help offset declining corporate donations and lost revenue. Members stay free, and most Mondays remain free days. The 1,800 acre site, opened in 1976, had relied on gifts, grants, and local support, with Harris County contributions tapering off after 1987.
