Sealed Wool Sale Closes Oregon Market in June Bid
The last sealed bid wool sale in Oregon occurred June 2 at Bhaniko with about 200000 pounds sold from 16 lots. Only two buyers attended, yet bids stayed near prior levels, with prices from 20 to 221 46 cents and names like J L Boonnourse and E R Langhlin among top lots. This ends Eastern Oregon wool trading for the season. Meanwhile 850 railroad cars of sheep shipments and 4,000,000 pounds of wool valued at roughly 20 cents a pound marked the season, yielding over 1,000 dollars per farmer in harvest value. Water debts are to be settled at Jobo Isham’s residence.
