Town promotion by focused committees yields results
A Madison weekly edition recounts a town meeting where about forty suggestions for improvement were collected but not acted upon. A model country town formed six small committees to focus on one goal each for a year, such as better fruit packing, hiring a sorter and gaining sixty cents per barrel. The piece argues twenty volunteers giving two hours weekly could drive public projects and grow the town.
