Remarkable naval action stories amid Bolivar era flotilla clash

Fire at Kronenberger building fights off major loss
Firefighters and citizens battled a blaze on the second floor of L. M. Kronenberger's Main Street building adjoining The Herald office. Origin unknown but suspected spontaneous combustion from rags and wool stock. Loss estimated at four thousand dollars with partial insurance. Herald and Meyer properties also suffered water damage.

Automobile Fire Threatens Hatch Cadillac on Main Street
Last night about 11 o clock the Hatch family's Cadillac touring car caught fire under the hood as Mrs. Maurice Herbst had just alighted returning from Chau Tauqua. Authorities believe a spark from backfire ignited gasoline in the carburetor. Fire was extinguished quickly with a pyrene extinguisher.
