She claims it restored hair, strengthened eyesight, and gained wide adoption among druggists in Oxford Raleigh and Norfolk. It is sold at 75 cents per bottle or four dollars for six bottles.
Quotations from Edward R. Harden and others praise Swayne's Ointment as a remedy for itching piles and tetter. The letters describe relief after years of suffering, with claims of complete cures. Sold by druggists or by mail 50 cents per box or three for $1.25 from Dr. Swayne & Son in Philadelphia.
An 19th century ad touts Dr. Swayne's Tar and Sarsaparilla Pills as a universal cure for headaches dyspepsia bilious fevers and digestive issues. It claims strong liver stimulation cleansing effects and offers mail order if local druggists lack stock, pricing 25 cents per box or five for a dollar from Dr. Swayne & Son Philadelphia.
For over twenty years customers praise Swayne's Compound Syrup of Wild Cherry for coughs colds and sore throats. Advertisers from Philadelphia claim asthma relief and rapid sleep improvement with Dr Swayne son owned remedy. Trial bottles priced at 25 cents with larger sizes and five dollar six packs.
