J A Decker retires due to ill health and disposes of Industry Store to C F Woodworth who has served as druggist aide for years. Woodworth continues operations as successor in Industry. Decker exits with retirement in good standing.

Chicago September 9. Governor Cox asserts quotas were fixed and that over fifty cities would host intensive fund drives with national committee involvement. Blair and Upham aides counter with forms showing larger city targets and raise questions about form completeness and $5 000 to $10 000 contributions. Also reports of a Boeschenstein effort to solicit funds from a postmaster surface via letters.
Night Policeman S Koch is chief of police today taking the place of Chief Dark. Dark recalls his boyhood and circus thrills as he visits Galesburg with a crowd of Macomb residents to witness the big double performance.
A blaze erupted today in the court house furnace drawing interest from workers as janitor John Burke rescued others. The fire made other city offices including the city hall use coal that day. A. P. News is cited as reliable.
