Escape at Lone Livery Jail Amid Staged Lock Breaks

A juvenile inmate escaped from the Lone Livery jail by slipping the padlock, aided by a broken hinge and a stealthy ascent through a corridor. Sheriff Sapp reported the break occurred around 2:30 PM as several other prisoners had previously escaped this month using sawn bars and boiler plate to breach cell windows.

Mark Wilson bought the Rebecca Maguire land two miles northeast of Macomb. Trustees sold 76 36-100 acres Saturday afternoon at the south door of the courthouse for 100 dollars per acre.

Adair man posted $500 bond and was released

Fred Harwick of Adair posted a $500 bond with Wm. G. Riggins as surety and was released from the county jail on a non-support charge involving three dependent children. His case is set for the December county court term. Snow reports came in of a brief flurry around 7:00 p m yesterday evening before the flakes melted.

Lombard college eleven dominated the Chicago YMCA squad on a rain soggy field in Galesburg and won 28 to 0. Swanson starred at end, scoring once and making key tackles, while Murphy, Munson and Brockmiller shone on the line. Murphy kicked all four goals and Lombard added a 14 point half with Hannum and Thigskin contributing touchdowns. In the Knox Beloit homecoming, Knox downed Beloit 15 to 0.
