Sheriff E L Sapp escorted John Snapp, 52, from Good Hope to the Bartonville state hospital for the insane after he was declared insane following a brutal assault on his 87 year old father when the father refused permission to use a horse. The escape plan allegedly masked a trip to Peoria to see a doctor.
London October 22 Associated Press reports Britain faces tense days as government weighs next steps in the coal strike after an ultimatum from railroad men and transport workers. National Union of Railroad Men representatives meet while transport workers warn against volunteer guards amid potential troop deployment.

Mrs Helen Jenkins Masters yesterday was granted temporary maintenance of 150 dollars a month from Edgar Lee Masters author of Spoon River Anthology by Judge P McGoorty. The money will be paid pending hearing of a separate maintenance suit.
Fifty farmers of the Sciota neighborhood attended a meeting at Sciota Hall to organize a livestock shipping association. Directors named to meet later to elect officers include T. W. Black, A. T L. Cozad, I. J. Keeling, Frank Guy, and J. W. Allshouse.
