He called for a naval holiday, scrapping older ships, and four guiding principles tying cap ship tonnage to power. Britain and Japan would scrap hundreds of thousands of tons. the US would total 645 740 tons in capital ships to be scrapped. Harding urged global cooperation to advance civilization and limit armaments.
Mrs. Emma Revon of this city, who handled funds for the French Orphans as county treasurer, is chosen to serve as treasurer for Near East Relief. Plans to extend the work across McDonough county, with local organizations preparing quiet support. Five dollars will support one person for a month.

Albert Fernon of Plymouth NL was arrested in Princeton after cashing forged checks in Galesburg Princeton Kewanee and Mendota. He changed his appearance after each cashing to avoid detection, with Kewanee police and railroad detectives aiding the capture.
