Alexander H. Davisson cousin of Abraham Lincoln died at his Earlville home at age 104 after a life free of liquor and tobacco. He claimed never to have tasted alcohol or used tobacco and was noted for his long life in Ottawa HL.
Charles Frakes, deemed insane and confined at Bartonville, escaped by sawing through a ward window bar. State officers statewide were alerted to locate him as details surface about his alleged chicken theft ring with two Beardstown men. Frakes previously faced trial for chicken theft tied to St Francis hospital and local farms, and his mental state was debated by Sheriff Sapp and the hospital staff.
