International miners prepare for nationwide strike April first

Illinois miners join a nationwide strike starting April 1 with no postponement or state wage agreement expected. Frank Farrington of the operators says only an emergency could alter the plan and a new contract is unlikely. John L. Inter City Rotary Meeting Planned for Quincy

Quincy NL March 29 At the regnar meeting the Quincy Rotary club decided to host an inter city Rotary meeting in Quincy late next month Delegations are expected from Hannibal Moberly Kirksville Ft Madison Keokuk and Macomb Ches Perry international secretary and district governors will attend and participate in the program. The event aims to be the most important Rotary gathering in the locality.

Mrs. D. W. Sala of Sherman avenue reports word from the VanNattan family that Mrs. J. N. VanNattan, formerly of this city, is growing better at Taylorville hospital after a severe operation ten days ago to remove two large tumors. Doctors believed she would recover enough to be up and about soon.
