George Dean of Bushnell passed a bad check for 412.75 to Sanders-Gale Grocery in Quincy. He is jailed in Adams County pending preliminary hearing on the charge as funds were lacking at the First National Bank of Bushnell.
Hundreds of Melonough County Farm Bureau members will assemble at the Elks Club in Macomb on March 23 for the annual session. Morning reports, committee appointments, and a speech by Chas A Atwood will open the program, followed by free lunch. Senator Harold Kessinger of Aurora will discuss Here Farmer in the Changing World in the afternoon, with reports from Farm Adviser Noneghue and officer elections to follow. Delegates to the Illinois Agricultural Association meeting will also be named.
Isom Seipel, a well known Tennessee resident, suffered a severe forearm laceration after his arm was pulled into a whirling wood saw at the Al Printer place Monday. The saw cut to the bone and severed an artery. Dr. Wilson of Tennessee was delayed by bad roads, and Seipel nearly bled to death before treatment.
Chicago March 14 Two mongrel puppies and their mother figure in a legal battle over a missing will and a claimed illegal one. John Conover a 17 year old Camden high school student disappeared after rehearsal. Police traced his movements to Quincy where he planned to travel west by freight to Denver or Sumner Missouri. He carried four cents and a pearl handled knife and sent a letter from Camp Point stating he awaited a Quincy train.
The American Steel Products Company will pay employees semi monthly starting April 1 with pay days on the 2nd and 17th of each month. The Macomb Telephone Co has installed a new system at the Steel Products plant linking all departments. Officer Manager F. W. Belmont reports steady orders and strong demand continuing indefinitely.
