In Chicago the Nine teenth ward offered $5 000 for the capture of four New York gunmen tied to the shootings that killed Paul Labriola and Harry Raymond. Labriola died near his home after being shot in front of the Pantheon on South Halstead. Raymond, known as Raimondi, was killed in his cigar store. Governor Small in Springfield confirmed Gregory VanMeter as Cook County public administrator, a partisan Senate vote of 27 to 7.
The attorney general ruling, published by the Internal Revenue Department, says the federal government cannot prohibit manufacture and sale of liquor wines or beer for non beverage purposes beyond Congress imposed limits. It notes no restriction beyond the ten day limit of one pint and leaves enforcement to physicians in good faith.

About fifteen thousand workers in misses and children s dress factories walked out today. The International Lady Garment Workers union announced the walkout to establish a minimum wage, restore previous wage rates, and press industry recognition and signing of agreements.
Birmingham New York remains without newspapers as of March 9 after a printer’s age grounds a strike. The union demands a wage hike from 1.00 to 50.00 dollars weekly plus seven hour day. Publishers offered arbitration but were refused.
Mr and Mrs Ray Wingate of Swan Creek are the parents of a 7 pound daughter born at 4 o'clock this morning at Holmes Hospital. Associate a Press News notes the birth.
Danham of Hannibal Missouri released with funds for railroad fare after surrendering to the sheriff admitting desertion from the navy. He planned to seek work in Quincy or Hannibal and would surrender again if asked. The county board also handled routine business including funds for the orphanage and a committee report on Scott Howard. No action was taken on Howard's request.
Rushville Presbytery will release Rev J T Baker from Jackson Street Presbyterian to accept a call from a West Virginia church. Baker served several months with excellent satisfaction and his departure is with regret. A farewell will be held as he and his family prepare to move in coming weeks. Wilson Astoria Mar 8.
