Fierce fighting erupts in Dublin as factions clash over streets and public buildings. Armored cars trench mortars and machine guns reported in use. Widespread seizure and fortification of key sites disrupt daily life.
Fighting rages in Dublin as regular Irish Republican Army troops clash with Rory O Connors Kre ale forces for Four Courts recently seized by the latter. Armored cars, trench mortars, and machine guns deployed. About 700 government troops and numerous O Connors defenders resist with fortifications and shell bursts.
In McDonough County a trespass case lists Lewis My Persinger and Delila J Persinge near Macomb as defendants. Emma J Nikemsoh of Schuyler County sues to recover $1500 claimed loaned in 1913 with interest, noting unpaid balance as of June 1 1922. The filing asserts the defendants refuse to pay.
Two officers, Captain Hamilton and Sergeant Martin, were killed when their plane fell from 3,000 feet above the Burg battlefield. In a separate item, Frank Putt of near Adair is reported to have found $250 in jewels and gems missing from a nearby home days earlier.
Wheat prices fell in early trading as weak demand and hedging sales weighed on values. Reports of better weather for corn and oats plus rains raised further weakness, with July at 1.14 and September near 1.15. The Churchill Construction Company is the chosen corporation name for a Bushnell trio, with 30 000 capital and 800 shares at 100 each. Incorporators are Geo G Bayne Robt H Churchill of Bushnell and Jonas A McGrew of Prairie City, granted by the secretary of state to run a general contracting and construction business.
Canton Newfoundland and Labrador June 28 A local farm near Bryant owned by Dr F M Harrison is the site of active oil drilling. Prospecting has reached a depth of 315 feet and indicates potential for an oil boom in the county.
Reach reached today shows 25 feet drilled through limestone with more to come. Oil men say this is a good sign and if a strike is not found at 500 or 600 feet, orders are issued to drill down to 1500 feet.
Danville officials face a grave risk as coal stocks at the Interstate Water Company run short, tied to the miners union decision to rescind mining permits. The Illinois United Mine Workers pledged to keep other mines open, while President Harding orders a Washington meeting with coal operators on wage-scale talks to end the bituminous strike.

Springfield June 28 corn in central Illinois suffers due to dry weather and widespread chinch bug damage. The weather bureau crop bulletin notes the week ending yesterday had excellent conditions for harvesting and haying, but all growing vegetation is badly in need of rain.

The ultimatum from B M Jewell to T Dewitt Cuyler drew silence in rail circles and little sign railroads would reconsider restoring abolished shop rules.
A. Bruce Bielaski, kidnapped Sunday, was released this morning in Mexico City. A message received at the American embassy at 11:15 announced his release and said he would be in Mexico City tonight. No further details were provided.
