Chicago July 15 A fourteen year old girl was killed and about 50 injured as a motor truck carrying workers collided with a telegraph pole amid traffic congestion caused by a strike that crippled streetcar and suburban service. Union officials say 3,000 workers affected. company pledges partial nonunion service.
Local grain markets near Macomb show no bids amid a price decline. Futures corn down 3.5 to 5 cents, oats 1 to 5 cents lower, wheat weak due to loss of export buyers. About 250000 bushels traded by noon as government limits on wheat futures persist since 1917.

The Wal ter Mains show plans a circuit of visits starting August 7 at Kewanee with stops at Aledo on August 9 and Galesburg on August 10, then arriving here on August 11. The act features 175 people and 100 horses, with strong circus performances expected despite being smaller than bigger troupes.

Hubert Cox of Blandinsville entered Holmes hospital this morning for treatment of a foot injury suffered days earlier when he jumped from a hay loft and stepped on a nail that penetrated the foot.
