Joe Sappington of Blandins arrested recently on a charge of seduction and brought to Oquawka by the Henderson County sheriff was released on $1000 bond for his appearance at the November term of court. County authorities had tainted him, but the Oquawka Journal reports differing information.
Aster was appointed as a delegate to the 17th annual convention of the Association of Railway Surgeons to be held in Chicago. He has been asked to present before the body at the meeting.
A lightning bolt struck near the Roseville village hall during celebrations injuring Mrs. Eliza Laprees of Abingdon. She was knocked senseless and remained unconscious until midnight. After care at the hall she was moved to the Wigert home near Greenbush where she recovered enough to eat a normal dinner by this afternoon with only a headache remaining.
Fred Rainey son of Mr and Mrs G W Rainey of South Lafayette street faced a Dakota tornado that carried a large chautauqua tent and him about a hundred yards before landing in a field. He suffered only a bruise and a sprain while serving as tent manager and introducing performers at Watertown when the storm hit.
C E Asher proprietor of the Asher garage on South Lafayette street has purchased the Morgan estate property half a block west of the square on Jackson street from Pennsylvania parties through Curran Curran. He plans to erect a garage later, though current lease terms delay construction for about two years. The 60 by 174 foot lot lies between McCullough Second-hand and Curtis Auto and Carriage Upholstering. Nunn and Kline hedge posts dealers now use the site as a pasture center and will likely stay for some time.

A four year old boy fell through a hole in the well cover while playing near Blandinsville. He clung to a rope submerged about twelve feet deep until his father retrieved him with a ladder. He escaped with only a cold bath and nothing worse.
R O Pelite, school treasurer, filed his year end report yesterday with County Superintendent of Schools B E Decker. The filing confirms completion of fiscal duties for the year.

Willis Adams of Blandinsville area saw two of his horses killed by a lightning strike during a Tuesday electric storm. The animals were tied in the barn when a bolt crashed through the building. Remarkably, another horse in the same stall was killed by lightning the previous year.
W. A. Grigsby longtime Blandinsville resident and his family have moved to Macomb and rented the Edgar Pelley property on South Randolph Street.
Two unnamed youths releasing the brakes on a parked car triggered a chain of events on the Holmes park hill. The Hudson bumped the Halladay vehicle, causing minor damage while neither party was harmed. Neighbors noted potential fatal outcomes if the cars had rolled further.

Three Bushnell men employed on the T P W railroad were injured when a New Philadelphia area driver, John Thompson, struck their motorized speed car at a crossing west of the depot. Foreman George Engles, John Harn, and James Spainhour sustained rib and bodily injuries and were taken home by train after medical attention.
Leon Buck Adcock has purchased the soft drink parlor in the Grand Hotel dining room from T N Cantril. Cantril remains proprietor of the hotel overall, while Adcock takes charge of the beverage department. Adcock plans to offer keg and bottled beverages and expects solid patronage.
Theodore Bradt becomes local C I P S Company superintendent in Macomb succeeding J L Bristow who moves to General Superintendent Gillman in Springfield. Bradt previously served as Mt Sterling Illinois local superintendent and is promised a promotion for service. Bristow remains in Macomb briefly to help Bradt learn local conditions before departing for the state capital.
