Tragic Crossing Crash Kills Macomb Family
A south Colmar road crossing collision with a bound freight train killed Philip Phillips 26 his wife and their young daughter as they traveled home from a visit. The child died en route to Plymouth hospital. parents and infant remain mourned at home near Macomb.

Racing cars collide as oncoming drivers dodge ditch
On the Colchester road near Ogden lane west of Macomb two racing cars sped toward Harry Mullen and Ed Vein Holing. Mullen steered into a ditch to avoid a crash and was joined by his wife and Ed Hoing who escaped with minor bruises. The other car(s) fled the scene. Road blocks formed as several vehicles slipped into ditches and a half hour halt occurred.

Macomb baseball beat Colchester 3 to 0 at the Macomb fairgrounds in a game witnessed by about 8000 fans. John Douglas starred for Macomb, allowing four hits off Winking of Colchester, while Havens and Turner contributed key plays. The prior Fourth of July 13 inning game saw Colchester win 4 to 2 after a long pitching duel between Ray Murphy and Randolph.

Valuable Colt Hangs Self in Hay Loader
A valuable two month old colt belonging to Allie Robbins hanged itself in a hay loader in the barn lot on Mr. Robbins’s farm near the county line. Conger Wins 75 Mile McDonough Race in Dramatic Finish
