Mrs. Witherell, wife of a loan and investment company head, was abducted Wednesday after being lured by a man claiming another person involved in a nearby automobile accident asked for her help.
An entire carload of illicit stills arrived in federal court from East St. Louis. The contraband was linked to more than a hundred prohibition violators in Madison County and nearby areas, seized as wholesale evidence in the southern district.
