Republican leaders said the permanent tariff bill would reach the senate early in February and pass this session. Paris January 25 The international Irish league organized by the world conference of the Irish race declared its principal object is to aid Ireland in attaining complete independence.
Governor Len Small announced a quarantine prohibiting import of corn and related crops from Ohio Michigan Rhode Island Connecticut Maine New Hampshire Vermont Massachusetts New York and Pennsylvania. The proclamation bars shipments of corn on the cob and most corn parts with limited exceptions and requires destruction or return of noncompliant goods and inspector verification for certain produce.
