The Astoria high school basketball team defeated Bardolph 23 to 11 at Astoria in a fast game. Bardolph faced floor size disadvantage, and star forward Sensley suffered a dislocated elbow in the first half, forcing his withdrawal.
Paris January 14 The interallied commission on war crimes recommends surrender of Germans charged with offenses connected with the war to the Allies for trial. Two resolutions were made public today by the commission.
White House announces Postmaster General Hays likely to resign from the cabinet to head a national motion picture producers and distributors group. President Harding says he cannot object if the arrangement serves the public good and notes Hays has made a fine cabinet record.
Attorneys for Governor Small and Vernon Curtis urged Judge Edwards to strike irrelevant parts from the state’s bill of particulars alleging a conspiracy to embezzle 535000 in state funds. The widow Charity Jane Flack receives the estate for life, then it is to be divided equally among the children after a 400 dollar bequest to son Ezra N Mack.
