Macomb Manufacturing plans to run three eight hour shifts to meet a contract for 150,000 water jugs this season. The plant aims to employ about 25 workers per shift, seeking to expand capacity and add orders for tens of thousands more jugs. The Little Brown Jug project signals growth for the young facility and benefits local farmers.

R. J. Worley of Blandinsville was injured Tuesday when his team ran away and is improving at Holmes Hospital. Doctors report no internal injuries.
Washington reports that the senate adopted a resolution from Senator Hitchcock of Nebraska requesting further information from President Harding about the four power treaty after a two hour discussion in the foreign relations committee.

The seventh annual Teachers' College sponsored basketball tournament opens in Macomb with 34 teams and many fans arriving. Elimination begins tomorrow, two tournaments run in parallel, as teams move from the A and B schedules to the losing sides, while Macomb battles other contenders for the title in two busy gyms.
Ed Simpson, city mail carrier, was struck by a car on West Jackson street after noon today. He was knocked from his bicycle, letters scattered, and his bike badly damaged. He suffered a minor finger injury. The driver fled. the plate was for a Chicago licensee, suggesting a stranger to Macomb.
