Burglars Sought Whiskey In Doctor's Office

Dr J H Davis reports burglars entered his office last Friday night seeking whiskey. They found only a bottle of poisoned alcohol, which was undisturbed. A man told the doctor on Saturday he heard a thief planned to steal whiskey but the doctor declined to prosecute.

Farm livestock totals plunge in Illinois 1921 report

Illinois with 9,216,000 head on January 1, 1921 from 10,130,000 a year earlier shows a 9.1 percent drop in livestock numbers. Total farm value fell from 446,151,200 to 302,294,300 as prices per head sank. horses, cattle, sheep and swine all decline with varying percentages across classes. Continued on page 8.
