By Associated Press eston West Virginia February 9 wartime orders directed the ordnance plant at South to close at once or suspend pay until further notice. Secretary Denby was expected to decide the maintenance status and staffing as the plant halted operations.

Reports say Bolshevik sympathizers are forming a nationwide network with names of senators governors bishops and other notable figures attached.
Bowen Newfoundland report says Alpha Worrell, the farmer near here, who was badly hurt when a horse ran under a clothesline last Thursday, is resting better though remains in serious condition. He suffered multiple rib injuries a shoulder injury head injury and was unconscious for over a day.
Robert Pointer of South McAr thur Street is able to be put on crutches after being confined to his home for some time with a sore foot.
The convention in Springfield recesses today with the revenue article still under debate. A vote on the plan to place nearly unlimited power over revenue and taxation in the hands of the legislature was anticipated for early next week.

Henry Kettron of the Second ward filed a petition to place Alderman Henry Fuhr on the Republican primary ballot for alderman. Fuhr stated he will seek the nomination and election on his city council record but will not mount a strenuous campaign.
A Bit Late. First ward voters would have had another candidate for alder man in their ward if Reily Hockensmith had carried out plans today. He prepared to circulate a petition for that office but learned yesterday was the last day for filing for city offices.
Flack and Kerman report that the Illinois Supreme Court has denied a rehearing in the Vermont community school case after allowing filing of briefs. The ruling that the community school district is not good will stand, with yesterday’s By-Stander details.
