Poultry Show Opens As McDonough County Hosts Entries
The Poultry Show opens on Lafayette street in the Asher garage building with over sixty exhibitors and more than 560 chickens. Exhibits include barred rocks, white pens, minorcas, buff Wyndottes and other breeds from Macomb, Bushnell, Plymouth, Avon, Vermont, Seota, Rushville, and nearby towns. The event runs all day with nightly entertainment and ongoing entries from farms such as Erickson, Rost, Beal, and Gamage among many others.

December Term County Court Opens With Several Cases
The December term of county court convened this morning with Judge Chas J Imes presiding and several cases opened. Len Thorpe pleaded guilty to prohibition charges and waived jury trial. his case was continued. Henry Boone Jones was sentenced to six months for neglect of his children. Vern Lawson pleaded guilty to selling intoxicating liquor and paid 125.95 in fines. Flemming Tannehill's indictment was quashed pending further argument. A civil suit against P E Elting is set for Wednesday. The jury is to report next Monday for more cases.

Mob of 2000 women storm Johnson mine No 17
A mob of about 2,000 wives and relatives of striking coal miners blocked access to Johnson Walker mine No 17 near Franklin. They prevented miners from leaving the site and marched along the highway, forcing cars to stop and delaying the work crew of roughly 125 miners. Sheriff Gould and deputies could not restrain the crowd.
