The school board at last night’s meeting employed Mrs S A Thompson as substitute English teacher to fill the vacancy caused by Beatrice Boyer’s resignation. Thompson graduated from the local Noval school in 1906 and from the University of Illinois in 1910.
Royal Douglass Post G A R No 159 in Prairie City with nine members will give up its charter and adjourn forever in January. The cemetery lots and flag will be handed to the village for upkeep.
