A Chicago AP report reviews county farm bureau replies on loan rates in Illinois. Short term loans average around seven percent with few higher than that. long term rates range five to nine percent, with bonuses on long term loans commonly ten to twenty dollars per thousand and some as high as fifty dollars.
The five week second summer school session at the State Teachers College ends Friday August 26 to give faculty a rest before the fall quarter. About 100 students attended this term while more than 800 were present during the prior six week term. Officials expect larger attendance next summer and regard the extra term as worthwhile.
