Carl Clark from Scotland township and Kenneth Pennington from Industry township have been selected as the two McDonough county representatives for the Illinois State Fair school at the Springfield fair in August 1928. They will attend the full session, camp in tents, be boarded by the state, and write a report on agricultural lectures for supervisors after the session.
Announcement in Springfield lists Mrs Revey Zimmerman Colchester and Miss Josie Guy near Macomb as enrolled in the Illinois State Fair domestic science school. Enrollment was competitive with many applicants. sessions run August 13 to 27.
Mr and Mrs Clarence Martin depart Saturday for Billings Montana to reside. Mr Martin has been chief clerk at J A Weather Son clothing store here. Friends regret their departure and wish them well at the new location. Harry McGann and family from South Bend Indiana visit his parents here. Albert McGann of South Bend visits with his parents and leaves with Dr and Mrs Brow en route home from Missouri.
Mr and Mrs Lloyd Greham of Tara are the parents of an eight pound baby born at Molmes hospital last night.

Drivers are scarce and full production not yet. operators expect better output by Friday as the two week strike eases car shortages. Corn in Illinois at a critical stage due to almon0 rain and drought. oats and spring wheat show damage. early potatoes fail. hay and pastures suffer. berries yield down while peaches and pears stay high.
Marion August 2 The Harding headquarters release claims complete Republican harmony behind Senator Harding on the League of Nations issue. The statement responds to criticisms by Democratic chairman White and notes approval from Hiram Johnson and former President Taft as evidence of unity.
Washington August 2 report from state commerce commission members on railroad rate hearings. Representatives say persuasive reasons support intra state rate increases and expect any increase to take effect September 1 1920. Officials note current revenues under present rates are insufficient.
Chicago August 2: P F E Butler president of the Chicago Postal Clerks union and Carry W Starr assistant city prosecutor depart for Washington to press President Wilson for a court of appeals to act on claims of unfair treatment and excessive department authority They plan to seek support from Samuel Gompers and other national union leaders.
Dennison Ohio August 2 The body of J Frank Hanley former Governor of Indiana who was killed yesterday when a freight train struck an automobile was taken to his home in Indianapolis today Mrs Glen Williams of Kansas City arrived for a short visit with her parents Mr and Mrs John P Burke and other relatives Mrs Williams is superintendent of the music department of the Jones Department store in Kansas City
Ed Chamnion of northwest of duiseley shipped four warloads of fine fat steers from his Macomb raising. The Macomb Live Stock Shipping association sent a car of cattle and a car of hogs today.
